What's the best travel alarm clock to buy if you're bad at waking up?
I'm trying to find the best travel alarm clock that's loud ( super loud!!! ) and will wake someone up if they're a deep sleeper and have a reputation of NOT getting up. The alarm will need it to work overseas (Kenya) while away for work. Any suggestions would help a lot!

Have you heard of the "Clocky"? I don't think it's intended to be a travel alarm clock, but it is designed for people that have a hard time waking up. It is super, super loud and actually has wheels on it so that it will jump off the nightstand and roll around the floor, forcing you to get up and turn it off! It runs on batteries, so would be good for traveling I think!

I like the alarm clock which has 2 bells and a hammer in between which hits them to make a loud ring when it goes off. It is cheap and takes no batteries and needs no electricity. Another good clock which is similar is called a Thunderbell. This is very loud!! If you want a novelty loud clock get the alarm clock which has a police siren. That is quite loud too and speaks too to tell you to get up. I usually have a fairly quiet alarm clock to wake me up gently which gives a gentle beeping sound and has a digital (LCD) display, and I follow this a few minutes later with a loud bell alarm clock in case I have not woken up. It seems to work, except once when the bell alarm clock spring seem to have broke and stopped working and I had to buy a new one. However I usually find mechanical alarm clocks louder and more reliable (they don't suddenly stop working because the batteries are low). One of my battery operated alarm clock showed the correct time but the alarm did not go off because the batteries were low. How would we know that? I would rather trust a mechanical clock. Better still have 2, one battery one to go off first followed by a mechanical one.
